A rod passes through the instrument serving as handle and needle point This center rod remains stationary while the instrument is turned, and the pen or pencil draw by their own weight avoiding the slipping of the needle or scratching of the pen. The set consists of 4 pieces (instrument handle, pen leg, pencil leg and lead holder), all made of nickel silver and all in very good overall condition, in their original plush lined leather covered case.
