SMALL CHINESE OPIUM SCALE ("DO'TCHIN") IN SHAPED WOOD CASE
Add-1222. Chinese, probably 1st quarter 20th century, unsigned. Made of nickel plated brass, with purple stringing and original weight, in original shaped wood case. Such scales are often known as opium scales and are called Do'tchin, but were more frequently used for weighing things like Chinese herbal medicines. This attractive Do'tchin and its original shaped wood case are in very good overall condition. An opportunity to obtain a classic Chinese "opium" scale for your scale collection.
