LARGE LACQUERED BRASS PANTOGRAPH

S08-057. English, early 1st quarter 20th century, with a trade label in the lid for "Cary, Porter, Ltd., Opticians & Scientific Instrument Makers to the Admiralty, &c., 7, Pall Mall, London, S.W." Made of lacquered brass, the two outside arms are each 33 3/8" long x 3/4" side; one is marked with ratio scales from 1:12 to 11:12, as is the shorter arm joined to it. There are 6 ivory casters, 1 fixed sleeve and 2 adjustable sleeves (on the arms marked with the ratio scales), and 3 cord loops. The case contains the original tracer stylus, pencil holder, and heavy brass pivot weight. This attractive large pantograph is in very good overall condition, with most of its original lacquer finish. The original hand dovetailed tapered mahogany case, 34" long x 6 3/4" wide (at the base) x 3 3/4" high, is also in very good overall condition.
