DE-339. German, ca 1888-9, signed on the bar limb "C. ZEISS JENA" and serial numbered 14379. Made of polished lacquered brass with black lacquered base, and standing 11" tall (min) extending to over 14" tall with draw tube coarse focussing and fine focussing with a knurled knob on top of the rear column. The 3 1/2" square stage has a composite material top, Abbe illuminating apparatus with condenser system and Iris diaphragm, and a double sided substage mirror on a rack & pinion mechanism. The original optical accessories include 3 eyepieces, 2 Zeiss objective lenses in brass canisters (AA and DD), 1 condensor insert with 3 small stops, and 8 large aperture stops that fit into the substage assembly. The microscope is in fine overall condition, with virtually all of its original lacquer finish, in its original fitted mahogany case.
