LACQUERED BRASS COMPOUND MICROSCOPE ON HEAVY ROUND BASE
UK-319. English, late 2nd quarter 19th century, unsigned. Made of polished lacquered brass and standing 12 1/4" tall (min) extending to 15" by rack & pinion focussing, on its 3 5/8" diameter x 1/2" deep base, with a compass joint near the base for inclination. The original accessories in the case include 1 objective lens in brass canister, stage-mounted bull's eye condensing lens, stage forceps, brass live box, brass talc box, and brass tweezers. This microscope and its accessories are all in good overall condition, with much of their original lacquer finish (some scattered spotting), in the original fitted mahogany case.
