COMPOUND MICROSCOPE/TELESCOPE COMPENDIUM by F. DAVIDSON & CO.
UK-524. English, early 1st quarter 20th century, signed on the focussing knob "F. DAVIDSON & CO., LONDON W." Made of leather wrapped brass, the two pieces screw together to form a 14 3/8" long hand-held telescope, with rack & pinion focussing and 1 1/8" diameter objective lens; the 7 1/2" long front segment can be used alone as a hand-held compound microscope, with the rack & pinion focussing mechanism. The original optical accessories consist of 2 eyepieces and 2 objective lenses. This very unusual compound microscope/telescope compendium is in very good overall condition, in its original fitted mahogany case.
