MINOT-PATTERN ROTARY MICROTOME

01-020. English, early 2nd quarter 20th century, with a metal trade Label on the side for "BECK, LONDON." Made of very heavy cast iron, with nickel plated fittings, 11 1/2" long overall x 6" wide x 8" tall. The feed mechanism operates automatically and consists of an acurately cut micrometer screw turned by a ratchet wheel; the object holder moves on a vertical slide actuated by a crank on the 4 1/2" diameter drive wheel; and the knife holder is fully adjustable in relation to the object and tiltable to set the angle of the cutting edge. This attractive Minot-pattern rotary microtome is in fine overall condition, showing very little evidence of wear from use and weighing nearly 32 pounds.
