01-025. American, early 1st quarter 20th century, with instruction leaflet from "PERRY MASON & Co., 41 TEMPLE PLACE, BOSTON. MASS." Made of nickel plated brass, the viewer is 3 1/8" tall overall, with a simple magnifying lens in an extension tube for focussing, a slot for the glass slides, a 1" diameter adjustable mirror, and a 2 1/8" diameter base. A cardboard box holds 9 (of the original 12) glass slides, each with 10 microphotographs. The Micrograph viewer, the glass slides & their fitted cardboard box, and the original maple box are all in very good overall condition.
