06-031. French, mid 19th century, unsigned. Made of cast & wrought iron, the lamp is 23" long overall, the stirrup portion is 7" long x 5 1/2" wide, the lenticular shaped body is 5" diameter, and the thumb screw finial on the cap is the classic rooster shape. The wrought iron stirrup has decorative features and includes pivot points that allow the lamp to be tipped forward to allow for more complete consumption of the oil. The original wire wick pick is also present. This attractive tunnel lamp is in very good overall condition, with no rust-through, dents or cracks.
