06-035. American, circa 1962, manufactured by THE VICTOREEN INSTRUMENT CO.. and described in an "Instruction and Maintenance Manual" as follows: "This instrument is a portable survey meter using a geiger tube as the detector. The geiger tube is mounted in a probe on the end of a thirty-six inch cable; a radioactive sample is mounted on the side of the case. Three ranges of operation are provided. The first range X1, requires 300 pulses per minute for full scale indication; the second range X10, 3000 pulses per minute; and the third range X100, 30,000 pluses per minute. These correspond respectively to 0.50 milliroentgens per hour, 5 milliroentgens per hour, and 50 milliroentgens per hour of radium-equivalent radiation." This instrument is in very good fully operational condition (but has not been checked for calibration).
