06-038. American, 1st quarter 20th century, signed "BECKER'S SONS." The set contains 8 lacquered brass weights from .05 to 4 A.T. (assay tons) in a fitted mahogany case. The weight set is in good overall condition, except that the lacquer finish on the tops of the brass weights is oxidized and the brass tweezers are missing from the slot in the front of the case. One assay ton (29.166 grams) of ore will assay 1 mg of gold if the ore assays 1 troy ounce per ton.
