S06-013. English, ca 1815, signed in script "Mackenzie & Swygart" and "15 Cheapside London". Made of polished lacquered brass and unfolding to 5 1/2" x 5 1/8" in diameter x 3 1/8" high overall on a small staff mounting base. A small arc on the base is grooved to hold the second arm at 90 degrees and has a line marked for 45 degrees. This unusual folding cross staff head is in very fine overall condition, as is its shaped sharkskin covered case, 6" long x 2" wide x 1 3/8" high.
