07-023. English, 4th quarter 19th century, unsigned, but likely by John Browning. Made of lacquered brass, 6" long x 7/8" diameter, with a knurled ring for slit adjustment and focussing by a knurled knob operating an eccentric arm. The spectroscope is in very good overall condition in its original leather covered rectangular case.
