S07-018. American, 1st half 20th century, with trade label in the lid "SET NUMBER II FOR CHEMICAL MICROSCOPY, SHILLABER MODEL." The original 8 3/4" x 4 1/2" x 4" fitted mahogany case contains 59 (of 60) small vials of chemicals used in chemical microscopy. Most of the vials still contain some or all of the original chemicals; a very few have leaked to stain the label in the lid. The original fitted mahogany case is in good overall condition.
