20" MERCHANT'S DESK SLIDE RULE N-4096 & CASE by KEUFFEL & ESSER
09-013. American, mid 20th century, signed on the face "KEUFFEL & ESSER CO." and described in the 42nd Edition "K&E Catalog" as follows: "DESK SLIDE RULE, K&E, Adjustable, 20 in., mahogany body, engine divided, divisions on white facings, improved Glass Indicator; on metal stands, in special Case....The slide rule is fastened to two metal stands, which keep the face of the rule elevated about 2 inches above the desk and inclined conveniently for easy reading. A knob on the slide enables settings with one hand." This attractive desk slide rule and its original case are in very good overall condition, except for cracks in the very brittle plastic cursor framework. Also included in the case is a K&E 4185C Slide Rule Magnifier.
