PLANE TABLE CLINOMETER & SLIDE RULE by TAVERNIER-GRAVET
09-029. French, 4th quarter 19th century, unsigned, but identical to one signed by Tavernier-Gravet in a private collection. The 12 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 1/2" boxwood base consists of an 11 1/8" slide rule with beveled edges, paper instructions under the slide & on the back, and a round bubble level on one end; on the other end, a small nickel plated brass sighting clinometer is mounted, with a 2" diameter vertical circle, a right angle sighting telescope, a 2 1/4" long bubble level, and a tangent screw for fine adjustment. This rare, very well made plane table clinometer & slide rule by Tavernier-Gravet is in fine overall condition, with its original elaborate fitted wood case.
