12-002A. 18th CENTURY FRENCH POCKET COIN BALANCE WITH NESTED WEIGHT SET
French, 4th quarter 18th century, unsigned. The steel beam is 4 3/8" long overall, with 1 5/8" diameter brass pans suspended by cords. Included is a complete 5-piece nested weight set and 8 small sheet metal weights in the original 4 7/8" x 2" x 3/4" fitted wood case. Included in the lid is a table of European gold coins and their weights. The scale and its case are both in good overall condition.

12-002B. 19th CENTURY ENGLISH POCKET COIN BALANCE
English, mid 19th century, unsigned. The steel beam is 5 3/4" long overall, with 2" diameter brass pans suspended by cords. Included are 2 original brass weights, stamped "ROYAL MINT 1843" on the front and on the back "CURt WEIGHT SOVEREIGN" on one weight and "CURt WEIGHT HALF SOVEREIGN" on the other weight, all in the original 6 5/8" x 2 3/4" x 1" plush lined leather covered case. The scale and its case are both in very good overall condition.
