English, 4th quarter 19th century, signed on the ivory case plate "JOSEPH LONG, 43 EASTCHEAP, LONDON" and serial numbered 24828 on the float and all of the weights. The set is complete with its gilt brass float, 9 circular & 1 top weight, and mercury thermometer on ivory plate. The set is in very good overall condition, in its original 8 1/8" x 4" x 2 1/4" plush lined mahogany case.

English, 4th quarter 19th century, with an ivory plate In the top of the case engraved "J.J. HICKS, 8. 9 & 10. HATTON GARDEN, LONDON" and serial numbered 5592 on the float and all of the weights. The set is complete with its gilt brass float, 9 circular & 1 top weight, mercury thermometer on ivory plate, and two 9" boxwood proof rules. The set is in very good overall condition, in its original 9 7/8" x 4 5/8" x 2 1/4" plush lined mahogany case.
