18th CENTURY ENGLISH BULB-CISTERN BAROMETER by JOHN CUFF
14-001. English, late 2nd quarter 18th century, with initials "J. C." printed on the paper register plate, most probably for John Cuff (worked 1731-1770). Made of dark stained mahogany, 37" long overall, with 5 1/2" diameter round cistern cover and rectangular glass door protecting the printed paper register plate. This attractive early 18th century English bulb-cistern barometer is in very good overall condition (must be refilled with mercury for use), with original glass and original finish throughout; however, the top 1" of the printed paper register plate has been replaced.
