LARGE OPTICIAN'S TRIAL SET IN FITTED MAHOGANY CASE
15-015. English, early 2nd quarter 20th century, unsigned. The fitted mahogany case is 22" x 12 7/8" x 5 1/2" deep, with a removable tray of lenses on top and a drawer underneath. The top tray contains 220 (of the original 222) lenses and the adjustable trial frames, including: 60 spherical concave, 59 spherical convex, 36 cylindrical concave, 36 cylindrical convex, 12 colored, 11 prisms, and 6 other. The lenses are all in good to very good overall condition, with some minor oxidation to some of the metal frames; the mahogany case is quite attractive, with its original cabinet hardware, and is also in very good overall condition.
