Double Slipping Slides are defined in "Magic Images - The Art of Hand-Painted and Photographic Lantern Slides" as follows: "An extension of the single Slipping Slide, having two slipping glasses either side of a fixed glass. The fixed glass occupies the whole area of the frame. The two slipping glasses extend beyond the upper part of the frame at opposite ends and slide behind pins."
