1873 PATENT MODEL WASH-BOILER ATTACHMENTS
17-003. American, patented July 28th, 1873 by Robert Jeffers and David C. Bockoven of South Sodus, New York , patent no.135,225. Made entirely of copper, 10 3/8" wide x 5" deep x 8" tall. "Our invention relates to the washing or purifying of clothes by means of an attachment to the ordinary wash-boiler, by the agitation of the water and forcing it through tubes, to form jets or spouts, by steam generated from heat from beneath the boiler. The object of our invention is to economize time and labor in the process of clothes-washing." This attractive late 19th century patent model is complete as shown in the patent drawing and in very good overall condition, with its original patent office tag.
