1877 PATENT MODEL
BAKING PAN

17-005. American, patented June 20th, 1876 by Horace K. Ford of Haverhill, Massachusetts, patent no.179,031. Made entirely of tinned sheet metal, 10 3/8" diameter x 8" tall overall. "My invention consists of a pan constructed in two sections, which are hinged together in the rear, to permit of the said sections being opened or closed as occasion may require, the lower rim of said sections being formed with a recess, in which are adapted to be fitted a flour sifter or culinary funnel, or a bottom for baking cakes, all as will be hereinafter more fully described." This attractive late 19th century patent model is complete as shown in the patent drawing and in very good overall condition, with its original patent office tag.
