MORDAN-TYPE POSTAL SCALE

19-015. English, mid 19th century, unsigned. The 8" wide by 4 3/4" deep wood base is painted with swirls of green to resemble malachite and has an ornately engraved brass piercework piece on each end. The brass scale itself is very ornately engraved on all parts, as are the three original weights (2 oz, 1oz, and 1/2oz). This unusually decorative Mordan-type postal scale is in very good overall condition, noting that one of the bun feet has been repainted.
