19-019A. 6-PIECE EYE MODEL ON TURNED WOOD BASE BY A. PILCHERS WITWE & SOHN
Austrian, 1st quarter 20th century, stamped "A. Pilchers Witwe & Sohn, Wien" on a brass trade label mounted on the base. A turned black painted wood stand, with 3 3/4" diameter base, supports this attractive 5 1/8" diameter 6-piece model of the eye. The outside of model is made of 2 pieces of cast plaster, painted with blood vessels and muscles, and having a 3" diameter glass lens mounted in front of the iris. The inside piece is a 3 3/4" diameter hand blown glass ball representing the vitreous body, which can be used to show how the eye works optically. This attractive model is in very good overall condition.

19-019B. 2-PIECE HALF OF HEAD MODEL WITH WOOD BACK
European (probably German or Austrian), 1st quarter 20th century, unsigned. This model is made of 2 pieces of cast plaster, painted with detail showing the bones of the skull and face and the blood vessels and nerves at the roots of the teeth. The top of the skull can be removed to show the cerebrum. The model is in very good overall condition and is mounted on its original 13 7/8" x 9 3/8" black painted wood backing.
