Brunton Pocket Transit

I have what appears to be a Brunton Pocket Transit, that I got from a college auction when it disbanded their geology department. It works great and is finely machined, but there is exactly zero makers marks or lettering on it that would allow any identification. It is the mottled grey painted cover over the machined aluminum case. The dampening button is corroded away and I need it repaired. Any ideas on what brand this might be and where I might be able to get this small repair done?
