EARLY CURTA TYPE I MECHANICAL CALCULATOR No.4483
09-035. Liechtenstein, circa 1948, signed "contina AG Mauren", serial numbered 4483. This compact calculator stands 4 1/4" high overall x 2 1/8" diameter and fits comfortably in the palm of the hand. With 8 entry digits and 17 readout registers, the Curta is essentially a pocket version of the large table model calculators used until the development of the Hewlett Packard pocket electronic calculators. This miniature mechanical calculator is in very good working condition, with its original black metal dust and shock proof carrying case. Also included is a facsimile of the original 46 page instruction manual.
